AFROGRAPH Workshops

Afrograph specialises in cultural history and craft traditions of West African peoples, and has several unique collections of West African textiles, gold weights, glass beads and traditional domestic items. Afrograph has developed workshop programmes which look at identity and family history drawing links to textiles. The textile and family history collections stimulate discussion challenging stereotypes and prejudices, looking at differences and similarities, common links and familiarities.

Workshops

Using Afrograph’s resources and activities, we develop a range of practical ideas and stimulating activities to enable pupils to be actively involved in their learning. The raising awareness of racial equality and the promotion of equality and diversity objectives are fundamental to Afrograph’s work. Afrograph workshops are accessible to all ages and abilities and incorporate functional skills.
